Chopin - Etude in D-flat Major, op. posth. n° 2*
*The order
of the Polish Music Edition (PWM / Paderewski) is:
● op. posth.
n° 2
in D flat major
● op. posth. n° 3 in A flat major
Some editions
reverse the order
of these Etudes.
● op. posth. n° 3 in A flat major
A note from the
Ignaz Friedman
edition (1912):
“Rosenthal uses only the thumb for the lower staccato part; this gives the performer a greater choice of fingering and a better legato in the upper part. Much more difficult!”
